Hello Church Family!

We looked at part four of Thy Kingdom Come Sunday. We looked at Praying Thy Kingdom Come as living in dominion over the powers of evil. We saw from our text (Matthew 6:13, 34) our Lord Jesus Christ enlightens us that each day has its own evil. So, if we are going to be good students in the school of the Spirit, we will equip ourselves with kingdom tools for dealing with the powers of evil. Yet, the reality is that many believers go about life unprepared to deal with and keep evil at bay from their lives and territories. We concluded that our audacity in the face of adversity results from praying Thy Kingdom Come. Whenever evil seems to be closer, we can engage the finger of God to command deliverance against the evil one. When all else fails, we can demand God's supernatural strength to sustain us. May our hearts be strengthened, and may our deliverance come quickly from everything that aches, weakens, and strains. In Jesus' name, AMEN!

In our Joys and Concerns - Let us continue to pray for one another, for our country, and for countries in crisis around the globe.

May your week be blessed and peaceful!

In-the-Service-of-Christ-and-His-Church,
Jemiriye Fakunle | Lead Pastor

We plan to meet in the park across from the church on the second Wednesday of each month in the summer from 6 - 7:30 p.m. A light dinner will be served, followed by fun activities for the family. MEET US IN THE PARK FOR FAMILY NIGHT OUT on June 14 (Family Game Night), July 12 (Water Night), and August 9 (Blessing of the Backpacks and Scavenger Hunt). Please don't forget to pencil us in! We hope to see your family there!

  • The UMW will be selling desserts at the Pow Wow. We will mainly need homemade fruit pies and cobblers from everyone if you are able. Please have your dessert at the church by Friday, June 2 at 4 PM or no later than 11 AM for Saturday, June 3.

  • Donations are still being accepted for summer 1-N-Christ youth group mission trips. It’s that time of the year once again! The One In Christ Youth Group will be taking two mission trips this summer. The first group of 35 will be going to Savannah, GA. June 17th to June 25th. The second mission trip will be to Bayou LaBatre, AL. July 9th to the 16th with 11 youth that will make the trip. Our group has definitely grown from last year! The mission groups will be involved with some home repairs, outside paint jobs, possibly light construction projects, and VBS for the kids in the community.

Members of the church have asked me if there was anything they could do to help, and I always respond with donations to the program are always a welcome blessing. If you have a small project that requires a group of hard-working young adults, please don’t hesitate to contact me. The most important thing you can do for myself and the group is to pray for us. Prayers for safe travels, for mission site safety, for the young adults to find a relationship with God, and just for them to learn more about themselves and what miracles they are.

I personally would like to thank you all for unconditionally supporting the youth group. I truly believe that your support allows these youth a life-changing opportunity that they will never forget.

    Blessings,
    Roel & 1-N-Christ Youth

  • The 1-N-Christ Youth will be selling their deliciously yummy Mama V’s marinated ribeye steak sandwiches! All proceeds raised will benefit the Youth Mission Trips this summer. Look for the 1-N-Christ Youth Group in the Pow Wow parade!

  • The United Methodist Men will have hand cranked ice cream and a variety of desserts baked by the United Methodist Women will be for sale at the Pow Wow June 2 & 3. You won’t want to miss out on this so make sure you look for their booth!!

  • FUMC will have a float in the Pow Wow Parade this year! The Float Committee has some excellent ideas for a float! We will need help building the float and we will also need people on the float and people to walk in the parade a hand out information about our church. If you can help with this, please contact Laurie Coffman 217-454-7326. If you are not able to help but would like to donate to this project, please make your checks to FUMC and put parade float in the memo or on the envelope.

  • Please know you all matter, and we all matter as we continue to gather, lifting the name of our Lord and getting equipped to reach our community with the Gospel of Peace and Love. I encourage us to continue to invite those in our family and friend circles who are unaffiliated to any congregation within the community to join us for worship at our Church. This is one way to add actions to our prayers. May the Lord strengthen you as you do so.
